Letter from Dr. Nasser Al-Kidwa, Permanent Observer of Palestine to the U.N., to the Secretary-General of the United Nations: (50th Anniversary)
I am writing to you with regard to the resolution adopted yesterday, 27 May 1994, by the General Assembly on the observance of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations. It is our understanding, in light of that resolution and other relevant General Assembly resolutions and the established practice regarding invitations and participation in conferences and meetings held under the auspices of the General Assembly, that an invitation will be extended to Palestine, at the highest level, to participate in the special commemorative meeting of the General Assembly on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations.
I would greatly appreciate a response from Your Excellency with regard to this letter. I also wish to inform you that I have addressed similar letters to the President of the General Assembly and the Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations.
