Palestine & The UN Marks Its 3rd Anniversary

It is a pleasure to recall that October 1999 marks the third anniversary of the publication of the Palestine & The UN news bulletin.  From the first issue in October 1996 until the present, Palestine & The UN has offered monthly coverage of a variety of issues relevant to all those interested in the question of Palestine.

Such coverage has included extensive articles regarding Palestine at the United Nations, including the work of the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the U.N. throughout the sessions of the General Assembly and the 10th Emergency Special Session, as well as the Middle East peace process.  Among the 34 issues printed to date, articles and columns have also included a historical retrospective on Palestine at the U.N., yearly reviews, monthly highlights and important timely pieces regarding, inter alia, 50 years of Al-Nakba, 30 Years of Occupation, Jerusalem, the Palestine Refugees, Settlements, Bethlehem 2000 and the Conference of the High Contracting Parties to the 4th Geneva Convention.  Of course, all past issues of Palestine & The UN can now be viewed on our web site at, which also includes many other relevant topics of information.

The establishment and launching of the web site of the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the U.N. has indeed been playing an important role in our efforts to reach out to our colleagues from the U.N. and other friends and to expand our readership.  In this regard, it should be noted that the latest issue of Palestine & The UN is usually available for viewing on the web site prior to postal delivery.

In closing, we wish to extend appreciation to our readers and welcome new readers.  We look forward to your continued interest, comments, and support.

Signed: Palestine & The UN
